Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, and baking soda together into a greased 9-inch square cake pan.
Make three holes in dry mixture.
Pour vinegar in the first hole.
Oil in the second hole.
Vanilla in the third hole.
Pour water over entire mixture and mix well with fork or rubber spatula.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cool in pan.
Frost with one of my Frosting Recipes or dust with confectionery sugar.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
NOTE You can use a non-stick cooking spray to grease the pan.
